Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

This routine is one of my favourites to get the blood pumping, stretch out achey muscles, mobilise the spine and loosen up the hips.
LEVEL
  • Intermediate
OBJECTIVES
  • Increase spinal and hip mobility.
  • Stretch the calves, hamstrings, hips and groin.
  • Open up the chest and shoulders.
  • Strengthen the upper body.
KEY POSES
EQUIPMENT
  • Mat
TIMING
  • You can do this one in the morning—especially before a day of riding, as a pick-me-up in the afternoon or after a long journey or flight.
TIP
  • Wild Thing requires significant strength and flexibility in the shoulders—not to mention coordination. You can always skip it if it feels dodge and hold Side Plank a few more breaths.
