Quad Stretch

Depending on the flexibility of your quads and hip flexors, this sequence is either going to be incredibly hard or a walk in the park.

You can always keep going with the modified Sun Salutation variation where you drop down onto your knees, as the full version is fairly advanced and takes a lot of practice.

LEVEL

  • Intermediate

PRIMARY MUSCLES STRETCHED

  • Quads and hip flexors.

KEY POSES

EQUIPMENT

  • Mat

TIMING

  • This one is great to do at the end of a riding day to stretch out the quads and release the psoas.

TIP

  • In Half-Reclining Hero, you can support yourself on your hands or your elbows instead of coming all the way down to the mat. You could also put a cushion under your right hip (when the left knee is bent) to level your hips. If you feel compression at your lower back, lie back on a couple of pillows, positioned lengthwise along your spine.
